Hi, I’m Natalie (she/her)
I’m all about creating a warm, accepting space where you can open up safely
Let’s Talk
I’m Natalie Parks and I am a Person-Centred Psychotherapist. I have an MA in Person-Centred Experiential Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice from the University of Nottingham. Before training as a counsellor I was a teacher for 30 years.
Why did I become a counsellor in Nottingham after teaching for so long? During an extremely challenging time in my life, I was referred for counselling by my GP and I found it an extremely valuable and helpful experience. I then decided to take the Introduction to Counselling Course at my local college, and this had a profound effect on me. I decided to leave the teaching profession and train as a counsellor.
My Approach
As a person-centred counsellor, I let you lead the sessions and choose what we talk about. A key part of what I do is simply working with you, rather than diagnosing or giving a label to what you’re feeling. I create a warm, accepting space where I will give you Unconditional Positive Regard for whatever you’re going through or have experienced before.
As you become more aware, you’ll see that you have choices which will then open up other areas for us to explore, and enable you to think about how you want to move forward. I firmly believe you have everything you need to flourish and reach your full potential in life.
